Should teens who commit violent crimes be tried as adults?

  • Yes Lock them up

Yes they should do the time working inside a juvenile facility and see and hearing these kids say and o the things they have done is crazy. If you think that you are grown enough to commit adult crimes by all means you need to be treated as an adult and take the sentence that's given to you

  • Yes, they should be tried as an adult

Because if they have the nerve to beat someone brutally or decide that are going to hold up a store then they definitely will be able to face the consequences for their actions. If they are 10 or 11 and commit a crime like steal something from a store then they should be taught a lesson or scared straight.

  • Yes yes yes

Well i mean if teens are going to commit serious crimes they should be treated as adults. They know what they are doing. They know better than that. How would you feel if your little sister just got beaten up mulitple times, by gang members? How would you feel if the gang members were set free?

  • Yes they do

Yes they should because it is not fare for them to be tried with child care it needs to be tried with adault care. They know better than what they are doing. You all know. Ether start acting better to not go to jail. START ACTING BETTER NOWW. START RIGHT AWAY.

  • Just Because .

They shoudldefiniltye because they should Teens who commit violent crimes should be tried as adults. If a teen commits murder, rape or any other different violent crimes needs to be tried as an adult because they know that that is wrong. There is no excuse for those types of crimes and we should not be lenient on people just because of age.

  • They Should - Yes!

Just because the person is young it doesn't mean that he/she gets a milder punishment. The child knew what they did, and should have been smart enough to know the after effects. Just because your under the age of 18 doesn't mean that if you commit a violent crime you shouldn't be tried as an adult. Just like is your younger than the age of, let's say, 7th grade, doesn't mean you can't skip 6th and move to 7th.

  • We were founded in a nation of equality

In the Declaration of Independence it clearly states "that man is created equally" just because the age of the person is under the age of 18 doesn't mean they should be given a less harsher punishment. Teens know the difference between right and wrong and they should definitely know the difference of violently harming another person. There are many people being harmed even killed by violent, unstable, psychopathic teens and there is nothing being done about it. I believe the law should change.

  • No no no

These kids who commit violence that are teens know better. Especially kids in a good school. They should have a juvenile jail at each city. Depending on what they did, is up to the judge to decide. But however if these kids are in a gang, they should get sentenced 1 month at LEAST!!! Thank youIf a juvenile wants to be treated like an adult then they should make adult decisions. If they choose to make a horrible decision like committing a violent crime then they should be tried as an adult and take the adult punishment. They should take responsibility for their actions and act responsibly.

  • No no no no

    They are just kids and still have not finnished their education s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s ss s s s s s ss ss s s s s s s s s s s s s s

  • No because it's just no!!!!!!!!!!

You never know there could be something going on in there life like bullying, rape , abuse or such other so what yall should do is see what's going on in their environment, then council them, try to see what's going on in their life first. If they just did it for no reason then yes but yall have to figure out why this person did this instead of just pleading dem guilty of adult trieds..... And I'd they did it for no reason there should be separate prisons one for adults and one for 17-23 like that's not good to be putting them youngings in there... Think about that.. Nd by putting them in jail anyhow could mess up their head even worst.. So absolutely no!!!!!!

  • Teens who have committed violent crimes should NOT be tried as adults.

It is wrong to hold children and adolescents who have not reached legal age to adult standards. In other areas we recognize the differences between children and adults. Why don't we recognize the same difference in criminal law? We don't say "this is a very important election, so let the kids vote". We don't say "this is a very important war, so lets give our children weapons and send them to fight". So why do we say "this case is different and this kid deserves to be treated as an adult and locked away in a prison"?

  • There's a legal difference

There is a legal separation between juveniles and adults for a reason, and just because a juvenile commits a crime, even a violent one, doesn't give the law leeway to bend it to their will just to satisfy the upset public. It's the law and it's supposed to be fair.
