  • Not if they object

This is a tough question. Nearly half of Catholics think the Church should not recognize same-sex marriage, while just as much say it should. The Catholic Church is one of three religious bodies that does not recognize gay marriage, the other two being the Southern Baptist Convention and the Church of Latter-Day Saints of Jesus Christ (Mormons). In my opinion, if these churches decide they are not comfortable with marrying gay couples, that's a choice they have made and must deal with the repercussions, whatever they may be.

  • Let them be

Why should you force Catholics to believe in something they don't? Let us go. Don't force a Catholic Priest to Marry a gay couple if he thinks its wrong. The only reason to do that would be to make a point. If you don't want people waving a bible in your face why should you be allowed to force them to marry you or recognize your marriage. This being said, the Church is becoming more tolerant but in the case of forcing a Catholic to believe or do something they believe is wrong, that's just shouldn't be allowed.

  • No they should not

There is a difference between marriage and gay marriage, I hear so much about the right to marriage, marriage is straight, you have a right to a straight marriage, not a gay marriage, this is not discrimination because everyone has the right to straight marriage no one has the right to gay marriage, if they don't want that right they don't have to implement it they choose when they implement it, if they want to do something that no one else is allowed to do well that's fine, they can want to do it all day long no ones stopping them, it's not our fault they want to be perverts.

  • Churches don't recognize things all of the time...Why start here?

Some churches don't recognize federal laws about pedophilia, and allow pedophiles to continue to work for them.
Some churches don't recognize that our government is secular, and they try to make religious-considering laws.
Some churches don't recognize facts about science, and try to teach pseudoscience in our public schools.
So what if a church doesn't recognize gay marriage?
Some churches don't recognize facts, morals, or laws, so why start now?

  • I speak this as a gay man.

In no way is forcing a church to accept homosexuals acceptable. Absolutely disgusting that anyone suggest that. Gay marriage is a controversy that belongs in a different dimension of debate. Leave the religious sector out of it. They only, as evidenced by firm following of values that uphold the Holy Bible, want peace. Do not disrupt that peace by invoking such silly and needless debate. If you are going to force the gay agenda down someone's throat, don't force it down a priest's.
