  • Love is Love

Yes because marriage should be between all people who love each other, and it should not be kept between just a man and a woman; as a society, we've grown and advanced far beyond what the past generations once thought. Gay marriage has been legalized, so it should be redefined to fit all people

  • Logically it makes no sense to ban same-sex marriage in a modern country with a large population.

Without looking at religion, which is supposed to be separated from politics, there aren't any logical reasons to ban same-sex marriage.

The main non religious reasons that I have found have been.
1 no procreation-yet A sexuals, those who can't reproduce, and the elderly can still marry.
2 the family structure- We can't have 2 people of the same sex raise a kid, but we can let a single person who (odds are) is a single gender raise a kid.
    3 AIDS-CONDUMS
4 unnatural-I personally can think of 38 species that engage in same- sex lovemaking off the top of my head.

Alright just one religious reason for the Westboro Baptist Church.
GOD HATES SODOME-GOD'S SEX LIFE SUCKS

  • Politically good, historically backward.

'Gay marriage' should be allowed in a political sense: gay couples should get the same rights and benefits as straight couples in their relationships. It's only natural that they have equal protection under the law, and not be denied liberties such as visiting each other in the hospital, joint-filing, or adoption.

However, the term "Gay Marriage" is an oxymoron, from a historical perspective. Marriage has not been about love, it's about gender and gender roles. Women have an economic role which is complimentary to men. While women no longer need to tend the house like they used to and can pursue careers, complimentary roles should still be preserved because of biological differences

  • Redefining Marriage Will Only Cause Long Term Problems

The family is well known as the most basic unit of society. By redefining marriage, we redefine the structure of the family and in turn the world. Children have the right to a Father and a Mother who will lead them in the right direction. By redefining marriage, we further push away the constitution which was reared in goodness and knowledge.

  • Only marriage benefits society.

People should be allowed to love anyone they want. But that doesn't require society to redefine marriage. Marriage is a contract between one man and one woman. Anyone should be able to make a similar contract, but only marriage can be protected by law. Because marriage is unique. Only a man and a woman can create new life. A man and a woman provide the best environment for a child to be raised in. Society relies on the two halves of mankind, man and woman, to join together.
If two men, two women, or more than two people want to live together and share their possessions and their lives and turn that into a contract they should be allowed to do so. But that is not marriage. If people want their non-related loved ones to be able to visit them in the hospital they should be able to register their loved ones they trust to have that ability. Marriage should not be a requirement for those things.
