  • Education Is Required

You will have a better education if you stay in school, rather than just having a GED. I say, if you have any type of education at all, it should at least be a high school diploma. You spend twelve years in high school, then your done. It's best to just continue your school years and complete it.

  • How would you know the right chose to make for your future at 16

You aren't even considered legal at the age of 16, It would be very difficult for you to get a job, you are missing out on hanging out with friends and having to settle for a job instead of a career. How can you raise a family with a minimal wage job if you decide to dropout

  • The high school dropout age should be raised

At the age of 16 kids not only are not that experienced in the real world but also they don't even have a degree. Most kids that drop out of school at 16 end up on the streets in gangs, or homeless. The high school dropout age should be raised to 18 or even higher because of this.

  • The High School Dropout Age Should Be Raised

At the age of 16, young people are not experienced enough and don't have enough insight into the future to make such a life altering decision like dropping out of school. I think the age that a student can drop out of high school should be raised to 18 because that is when people are considered adults by the law. Additionally, this would help more people complete their education and help them be more likely to get jobs.

  • The dropout age should not be raised

Yes, I have heard about the age to dropout is to low. Well I am not going to agree with that. The age to drop out is good where it is. It will give the students the opportunity to see if they want to be in school still or not. But after that point they should be the ones to say that they want to be in school. Almost all of them are rude to the teachers, distracting their peers, and the jobs that they could fill isn't being done.

  • Isn't it the right to an education?

I believe that education should be heavily encouraged and there should be a process to drop out instead of a specific age. If they can communicate and reason around not attending school, and they couldn't find a reasonable median to stay, then after the person drops out, they should be encouraged to return, if they choose to do so.

  • High School Drop Out Age Should Not Be Raised

No, the high school drop out age should not be raised as for most school districts it is already eighteen years old. At eighteen years old, a person is already considered a legal adult and as such should be able to decide whether to continue education or enter the workforce.
