Should the Indian government interfere in sports?

  • Govt. Interference in sports

Yes the govt. Should interfere in sports. This is my opinion. If they can reward the sportsmen then why can't they interfere in it. This might provide opportunities to the poor if they are capable to represent the country. Govt's interference would also make the players enthusiastic as they get rewards.

  • Yes government should interfere in sports

There are many good sportsmen in our country , but some are very poor and they cannot afford the fees of the coaching n also cannot afford the traveling cost. If they want to represent our country they are not able to do so . So if government would interfere in sports they can sponsor their coaching and traveling cost

  • No the Government should not interfere in sports

Politicians should restrict themselves to politics only, since it is spoiling the sports drastically and are responsible for distorting the show at different levels in nation as well at international level. Many renowned players have agreed to it. Gopichand and other teachers are doing remarkable efforts to make players by their own efforts.

  • Government has no role in promoting sports

Government has no role in promoting sports. Government has to focus on many other matters other than enjoyment. Sports is just for enjoyment of people. It doesn’t change the status of the country. Government should focus particularly in the areas of economy and social well-being of the people. For example in India the economy is in a decline and the country is facing severe poverty. Government should focus on these matters not sports.

  • The Indian government has many other things to focus on

The history also says that government doesn’t involve in sports usually. When sports becomes a national event then only government participates. For example in recent years in India when Commonwealth games was conducted then only the government did some development in the field of sports. Many stadiums were made for commonwealth games. But after this was finished no further development in sports has been seen. In 1982 first time Asian games were conducted in India, at that time also government had taken many efforts, But as soon as that got over government didn’t concentrate on sports.

  • No stop it

I don't think government should interfere in sports and games. I think if government interfere in sports, the sports will not be played with sport's man spirit but to earn money every sports men will play by this sports will become nothing but a business and government would be playing the role of business man in this. So I think as there is religious freedom to everyone same like that there should be a sporting freedom......

  • No, not at all

The politics corrupt the sports, in which the best sportsmen are involved.
This does not give the chance to the people who are talented, and lose their motivation to play well. To make their country proud at least they must not involve in the sports. Their country will not be recognized in the world.

  • Sports Are Private Industries

Sports leagues, sports teams and sports federations are private industries and should remain as such. Instead of financing sports teams, the Indian government should focus on eliminating poverty, homelessness and hunger among the millions of underserved Indians. There is no time or money to interfere in sports when there are so many lives on the line.

  • The Indian government should not interfere in sports.

The role of the government is never to control professional sports. This is no different in the case of India. The government should let players and teams govern themselves. The Indian government has much larger problems to deal with than refereeing sports games. They should focus on environmental protection and the economy.
