Should the military be exempt from environmental regulations?

  • It is not a simple yes or no.

Although it sounds complete wrong to exemp the military from certain environmental regulations, I do believe that wether they are exempt or not they will still break the certain laws, and then end up requesting emergency exemptions, so in order to prevent this I feel they should be exempt from certain laws, but with limits placed on them.

  • Interferes with their activities.

Imposing environmental regulations upon the military restricts and interferes their activities. When you're at war you do not think "how much pollution will that tank give off" you think "how can I get this done with the least amount of casualties". Imposing environmental decisions will weaken the military's movement and may even put us in danger.

  • They are the law at sea.

Navy warships not only have to carry out environmental regulations, but they also have to check that merchant ships follow the law. How do they want to check that law is being accomplished, if they don´t even complied with environmental regulations? However, people should be concerned that sometimes environmental regulations can´t be carried out in order to accomplish the mission.

  • Everybody should protect the Enviroment including the military

Without any exception all of us must protect the enviroment and the rules are the same for everybody. The military has to care the people of their countries and to respect the enviroment where it is the base of the life. To keep the human life, we must care the planet,

  • Everybody should protect the Enviroment including the military

Without any exception all of us must protect the enviroment and the rules are the same for everybody. The military has to care the people of their countries and to respect the enviroment where it is the base of the life. To keep the human life, we must care the planet,

  • The eco-friendly defense

There are plenty of ways to defend the interests of one country, and to be respectful with the enviroment is, of course, one of them. Under no circumstances should the military be exempt of taking care of the enviroment; futhermore, in my opinion, that might be one of their main goals in no-war time.

  • Why would they have any exemption?

The military should be protecting the policies of their home country. As such, countries without question must support the conservation of our home planet and this if anything does not exempt the army or military. Weapons are a whole other debate however and since we have such advanced weaponry the army has since then been reduced to little more than tech.

  • No environmental consequences

People are born, they pollute and then they die. What is important is that the planet is left available for our children to live. It is important that we have environmental standards to keep those that do not feel the need to be environmentally sensitive to have a set of guidelines.

  • No Way

There is no good reason to allow the military to be exempt from any environmental regulation. They should be acting to defend the people of America but also our environment and our natural resources. We need to do more to protect and conserve our land and atmosphere. We should not be allowing exemptions to these rules.

  • The Environment Should be a Priority

The military should be at the forefront of protecting the environment, not in the background politely ignoring regulations. The military should lead by way of example, working on sustainability goals and alternative fuel sources to remove themselves from dependence on fossil fuels, which are purchased in part from other nations. We would be more secure as a nation with a green military.

  • No They Should Not Be

Environmental regulations are put in place to help conserve and preserve our precious resources. It would be silly and hypocritical if we said everyone had to work together to save the planet... EXCEPT the military. The military should have to follow these regulations and act with the utmost courtesy when it comes to the environment.

  • Environmental Regulations are Created to Protect the Environment at all Costs

If the United States Military is free to ignore environmental regulations, then why even create the regulations in the first place? The government should be held to the same—if not higher—standards as the general public. National defense is certainly an important aspect of the military. But as far as national defense goes, it is equally important for us to protect our homeland environmentally as it is to protect it militarily.
