Should the people of North Korea become more directly involved in their politics?

  • The people of North Korea should become more directly involved in their politics.

The people of North Korea should become more directly involved in their politics. The rest of the world knows that the people of North Korea are being oppressed and that they need as much help as possible.the problem is the North Korean people don't know. They just need to learn more about their leaders.

  • Would they be given the opportunity

The problem with North Korea is not that they are not interested in taking an active role in their twisted political system, but it is that they are not allowed to. Those who are caught protesting in any small way the current regime are summarily executed. They are not properly armed or educated enough to even incite a revolution.

  • Yes, but that won't happen.

Of course it would be wonderful if some protest led by the average people in North Korea could make changes happen, so of course there should be direct involvement. However, right now those who do that are risking imprisonment and even death. So the reality is that this kind of protest will involve only the very brave and committed.

  • It would make a big difference.

Yes, the people of North Korea should become more directly involved in their politics, because that would have to lead to more freedom. If the people of North Korea were to have more of a say, they would put laws in place that allow them to have more choice and control in their lives.

  • Only if they have a death wish.

Only if they agree with what their "Dear Leader" decides is best. Do you know what happens to dissenters in the North Korean political arena? They get executed, and three generations of their families get sent to live on forced labor camps for the rest of their life. Not a lot of room for activism there.
