Should the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame accept musicians who commit to electronic music genres such as dubstep, speedcore, and psytrance?

  • If the r'n'r hall of fame wants to survive?

I think we have to face the fact that although rock'n'roll (actually a musical genre from the 1950's if i'm being pedantic) is still very popular, on a musical level it really hasn't developed much in the last few decades unlike the developments happening in electronic music at the moment.People also need to stop referring to dj's when talking about em, it's so much more than that. What i'm saying is basically i like rock music but it needs to embrace electronic music to evolve. That doesn't mean putting a load of crappy beats over the top of a rock song, that would be horrible. It's not just about synthesisers, samplers and drum machines either. There are some very interesting developments in technology for guitarists, singers and drummers. It could be really exciting if the music makers used their imaginations. It could be brought into the 21st century as a refreshed musical force and still rock!

  • Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and electronic musicians

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should accept electronic genres as much as they accept Rock and other musicians. Electronic musicians are just as dedicated and talented as other musicians, and they should not be downgraded or denied access to a Hall of Fame just because they play dubstep, speedcore, trance or other genre.

  • Yes, the Rock and Roll All of Fame should recognize all types of music.

I think that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should accept musicians who commit to electronic music genres such as dubstep, speedcore, and psytrance. I do not think that such genres of music should be exclude when it comes to being recognized for the hall of fame. Music is music.

  • The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should not accept Musicians that commit to electronic music genres.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was named The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a reason it wasn't named The electronic music genre, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Only rock and roll musicians should be accepted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Artists like Dubstep, speedcore, and psytrance, because those are not true Rock and Roll artists. Now Artists like Black Sabbath, ZZ Top are true rock bands and are and have been inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. So no I don't believe that artists that use electronic music genres should inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

  • It's not traditional Rock and Roll.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should not accept musicians who commit to electronic music genres such as dubstep, speedcore, and psytrance, because those are not true Rock and Roll genres. Rock and Roll is the truest form of music, and those who have done other things might be great musicians, but they do not deserve the recognition of the Hall of Fame.

  • No, they should not.

As much as I love electronic music, it just isn't rock and roll. The rock and roll hall of fame is just as it's name states, it's for rock and roll. If they wanted to do anything, just make a hall of fame for electronic music, it would just cause a ruckus to add the wrong music to that hall of fame.

  • Rock and Roll Shouldn't Change

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame shouldn't include musicians that use overly electronic methods for their craft. Inclusion in the hall of fame should be an honor for lifelong and hard-working musicians. Crackpots need not apply as electronic music genres are more about producing rather than writing and recording good sounds.
