  • Yes they do.

It would provide more education, allowing students to be more successful in life. This is especially needed in the usa. Just look at japan, the smartest country in the world and they have longer school weeks. If we don't get longer school weeks than make longer days, and more school days in the year.

  • I'm stressed out

Many children need more time to relax and spend more and more time with their family. But if we make the school time longer and longer, kids will not have time with their families. Besides, they need to release the stress the school is giving to the children. So plz NOOOOO

  • School days should be shorter!

School days along with After school are about 11 hours long! If kids don't have time to spend with their parents, we might act more like strangers to our parents. So in order to have education and family time, I suggest to make school days shorter instead of long days of school with long hours.

  • Stress is Happening

The school days should not be longer because school is where a lot of kids feel stress. And the more stress children have the worse their life will be. Home gives children less worries and more time to live life as they wish. If a student spends 9-10 hours a day in a classroom he/she will be too tired and bored to actually think

  • No, kids need free time.

No, the school week should not be longer, because children need time to be with their parents. Children already spend more time with their teacher than with their parents as it is. Parents need time to help their children explore extracurricular activities, and bond with their children, without constantly having to be thinking about school.

  • The school week should not be longer.

Not all learning happens in a classroom. Kids need some time to be independent and to socialize outside of school. Extracurricular activities are important for a child's development. If the school week is longer, kids will have no free time, and they will be overly stressed. Kids should have time to be kids.

  • No, the school week should not be increased

In most places, the school week consists of five days. Making the school week longer has several disadvantages. One disadvantage is that costs would increase because teachers, bus drivers, janitors, and all other school personell would be working an additional day. Also, the school would have to pay more for electricity and transportation costs. In addition, I am unaware of any study that shows an additional day at school would benefit students. From my experience, I believe having at least a two day weekend gives students a chance to relax and come back ready to learn new material.

  • It's already too long

We all know we spend all of our mornings in school, and also most of the afternoon, but if they did make the school days longer, we would live at school. I'm sure if they did that we would be eating dinner at school, then we would go home and go to bed. The only time home we would have would be on weekends.
