Should the Senate bill ending the shutdown and raising the debt ceiling have passed?

  • The Shutdown Was Painful

Whether conservatives like or not, there needs to be a functioning government for day to day services. Shutting the government down did a lot of harm to the economy. People were not drawing pay checks, and they were not spending that money into the economy. There is never a good reason to shut the government down.

  • No the bill should not have passed.

Although the bill would have ended the terrible shutdown that happened, it is a good thing it did not pass. It would have increased American taxes on those who are already paying an arm and leg in taxes, and it would not have affected any of the people trying to push the bill into success.
