Because a lot of racism still exists in the United States the Senate should pass the Employment anti-discrimination act. This will make the playing field a little more even for all applicants and employees. This law would also cover other types of discrimination such as age and marital status that may work to hinder some people.
Be it race, gender, looks, disability, or sexual orientation, everyone has a right to work. No one should have to be discriminated because they are different. The world is made up of a variety of people, culture, and background and everyone has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This is the United States of America and if memory serves there is nothing that says you can't be happy and the work place should not impede that happiness.
