  • If that is what they so choose

The right to revolution is sort of foggy. Are we allowed to take up arms. How will our government respond. Secession is a great way to start anew while being as peaceful as possible. My suggestion, if the indeed do choose to succeed, is is that they try to be as peaceful as possible. Instigating violence didn't work out for the Confederate States.

  • I dont recall that working out the first time they tried.

Aside from the fact that it would never succeed in todays time (US military is far better than anything the states have) they really have no justification to do so. They don't have a single policy that is worth fighting Washington to preserve (like slavery). Plus I think (but don't quote me on this) that the first civil war set the standard that statehood is permanent and no state has the right to succeed.

  • If the people will it, then let it be so

The United States celebrate the American Revolution as a break away from a tyrannical monarch. Why then does Washington arrogantly deny the right of States to declare their own independence? In that case, Washington becomes just as tyrannacle as King George. States must be allowed to secede if the democratic will is there.

  • They would for the wrong reasons.

The south is also known as the Bible Belt for their how the states are usually ran. The south, overall is very conservative, and against progress. Liberal states are more progressive. The south believes in a christian theocracy. While the north believes in a secular government. There are reasons that I see why they should secede, but we are not ready.
