  • If it helps the united states then yes.

If it helps the united states then it is exceptible. If a terrorist knows that there is going to be an attack then I find it morally justifiable to torture the terrorist. If an attack that would kill hundreds of people is about to take place it is perfectly okay. I would waterboard them myself. But if it is just to try out techniques then no you should not torture a terrorist in that case. They're many stupid people to try it out on.

  • Yes yes yes

I think that if terrorists can blow up people and kill people, and kill innocent men, women and children then we should be able to torture them to get information about their plans. Even though it is not morally correct to torture and bring pain to one another as humans, terrorists do not act in a humane way so they shouldn't be treated in a humane way.

  • The Golden Rule

Growing up we were taught we weren't alway's going to the biggest. Or the toughest and someone would put us in our place if we didn't learn it. It's about time we put terrorist in their place. If they can do it to our men and women, we dam sure can as well.

  • I have ethos pathos and logos.

Cesare Beccaria, the eighteenth-century philosopher whose critique of torture remains influential today, observed that when a person is tortured, the "impression of pain…may increase to such a degree, that, occupying the mind entirely, it will compel the sufferer to use the shortest method of freeing himself from torment…[H]e will accuse himself of crimes of which he is innocent." Beccaria also pointed out the problem of using torture to discover the accused's accomplices: "Will, not the man who [under torture falsely] accuses himself yet more readily accuse others?"

  • I hate terrorists

Anyone threatening the us or potentially hurting American citizens should be tortured for the safety of the american people. We do this to get info out of potential terrorists. If we just put them in jail it's not going to stop the problem! This way we can get info in case there is a terrorist attack coming.

  • Reasons for Torture

    • The Geneva Conventions only apply to prisoners of war. They do not apply to spies or terrorists.
    • The most support for torture came from people in Uganda. Seventy eight percent of Ugandans polled by the Pew Research Centre said they support torture against suspected terrorists. Other countries with more than 58 percent support for torture were Lebanon, Israel, Kenya, Nigeria and the United States. All those nations have experienced terrorist attacks
    • Even the countries with fewer support still have supporters.
    • They went against human rights too in a bigger scale, therefore torture will give them a taste of their own medicine.
    • Torture will be use to gain information from terrorists.
    • Torturing may make them less likely to continue, knowing that they will go through even more severe torture

  • Because I'm Osama bin ladin

Yes that's right I'm alive and i say don't torture
    Reason: because logic.
I also like the KFC chicken, its is beautiful and who made that Americans so how come they invented KFC but we didn't?
Why do you think we are bombing you?
Because we want revenge of the KFC so you torturing us because of a two way revenge is pathetic.

  • No it should be banned

Goes against the 8th amendment, and the 5th article of human rights.
Bbbbbbbbbb aaaaaaaaaa nnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnn eeeeeeeeee ddddddddd it should be banned, and its just ripping our economy apart, so i think it should be banned for multiple needs, so say no to torture and live on with our happy lives!

  • Breaks the 8th amendment in the US Constitution

According to the 8th amendment, within our nation's constitution, it prohibits the use of any cruel and unusual punishments. If we were to use torture we would be breaking our own laws, which can give bad reputation and assert hypocrisy within our country. What would our founding fathers think if we allowed this inhumane act?

  • Because it can work

I believe that terrorists are people and like all people they have different personalities, however you have to decide if that step is necessary and how trustworthy that person is, after all some people would say anything to stop the pain. So yes torture should be available to you at all times.

  • It's against their human rights

One of the main reasons we shouldn't torture them because it's against their human rights. It is clearly stated in Article 5 of the Uneversal Decleration of Human Rights that no one shall be subjected to torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. This Decleration applies to everyone simply because they are human and by denying terrorists this right the U.S arnt treating them like humans.

  • Torture is Imhumane

  • Its a crime

Any form of torture is a crime the cia is a corrupt organization bacause they are torturing people any form of torture should not be allowed it is cruel and not fair i understand but they should not do that they are commiting a crime and people are not seeing alot of people in guantanamo bay are innocent and have families why ruin there families

  • What many don't know

On several occasions, the CIA has tortured victims that were thought to have played a part in terrorist attacks, but really haven't. They deprived them of sleep, forced them into tiny cages, used the method of water boarding and rectal feeding. In the end, they end up giving false information wasting the U.S.A's time because they want the torturing to stop because they know nothing. In the process of torturing many innocent people are hurt and it only makes terrorist groups have more hate towards the United States of America.

  • It is ineffective!

Many FBI and CIA agents claim that the information that is gathered by torture is not accurate, due to the fact that the people would say anything to stop the pain. Coerced information can't even be used in legal proceedings! There isn't a logical point to torture, other than using it for personal gain.

  • Are we a nation of Hypocrisy?

As much as we all hate terrorists it is not necessary to torture them. Is America a nation of hypocrisy where it only protects Americans but violates and treats suspects of terrorist such as animals? The first amendment is all about freedom. What about freedom for others? According to researches torturing suspects doesn't give accurate data but falsified information. Suspects are being tortured and could possibly be innocent. To stop the pain they yell out anything. Stop torturing and be a Nation of rights for EVERYONE.
