  • This will be good.

You see, the keystone pipeline is good for oil barons. An increase in oil barons will lead to more oil. Oil is part of our daily food needs. Vegetable oil is very healthy, and it is estimated that the average human should drink about 8 glasses per day. Our bodies are smart enough to filter away the useless stuff, and as long as none of the black oil spills on our skin, the government will never mistake us for actual oil. Also, laptops and computers rely on a daily dose of oil. The only thing that could improve this is if we had a large tube sucking out oil from Canadia and transporting it to the Glorious Nation State Democracy of China, which won the most gold medals in the last olympics. Praise be unto Allah, Lord of China.

  • Why not build?

And if Trump will be president he will charge them about 15% that pipe goes trough our land. We get jobs and this will help to our economy. Environment is important but so our survival so responsibility is a must to prevent disaster but we should participate in building this till we find better or safer solution.

  • From a teen

    1. Using oil from Canada will displace more expensive heavy crude oils coming from less stable countries like Venezuela
    2. The reality is, the pipeline won’t cross any reservation lands or lands held in a trust
    3. Oil is in our everyday lives (more than 6,000 objects use oil in our everyday life)
    4. Lowers the cost of oil which leads to lower everyday prices on living
    5. 42,100 direct and indirect jobs it will create during its two-year construction
    a. You may try to argue that it will only give temporary jobs but pipelines do require ongoing operations, service, maintenance, and repair

  • Oil is in our everyday lives

People may say that we don't need oil, but there are more than 6,000 objects in our lives that use oil. Without this oil, whats the plan? We won't finda replacement for oil in another thousands of years. I don't think anyone would want to discover a life without oil so let's make sure that doesn't happen. We should not only look at what's. Behind us, but we should start looking at what's ahead!

  • 41,965 jobs will be laid off

42,000 jobs will be created over the two-year construction period but then after that, 41,965 jobs will be laid off which will just make workers end up right where they started. Also, if it spills that would be horrible because 830,000 barrels of oil will be transported from Canada to the U.S. every day

  • Hell to the yessss!!!!!!

Its awesome that we are gonna have a pipline :)

This could provide a lot of things that America needs. The first thing that it could do is create jobs for building and maintaining it. The second thing that it could do is provide money or tax dollars for each state to spend on much needed things like education or transportation costs.

  • Not as presented

Canada has two refineries in Quebec which is too far away .We should not send unrefined natural products out of the country to repurchase later at an inflated price. Nor sell to foreign interests.US can certainly build a pipeline for refined product at a fair market price .Federal loans to a CANADIAN company can be set up build Canadian jobs

  • Yes most definitely.

It will boost the economy for both us and Canada. Also get us off foreign oil dependence. Or at least help. Anyone who says otherwise just doesn't understand economics. The benefits definitely outweigh the negatives. And before people scream that it will "destroy the ecosystem", do some research. It's no more or less damaging then anything we've done in the past.

  • The original Keystone pipeline was a disaster!

TransCanada's original Keystone pipeline was built with exceedingly cheap and poor material, and was the leakiest pipeline in US history. TransCanada had a chance to build a good pipeline, they built one that was extremely leaky, and arguably should not even be running. TransCanada doesn't deserve another chance to build a pipeline when they messed up so badly the first time. The pipeline being built will create a lot of jobs, but they will be temporary and workers will be just where they started. There are far better ways to create jobs.

  • It is going to cause drought, forest fires, flooding, extreme weather disturbances, and rising sea levels.

Also, to extract the oil we have vast amounts of water and chemicals are needed to separate the tarry substance. It takes three barrels of water to extract each single barrel of oil. Ninety five percent of the water used to extract the oil which is about 2.4 million barrels per day, is so polluted that the water must be stored in large human made pools known as tailing ponds.
Please, just think about how we are just making a great damage in the earth. Don't just think in the benefits that it is giving us!
By the time we get this oil we are going to be sick.
    Think about your families!

  • Don't build the pipeline

This is bad. We should not build this pipeline because we get almost nothing out of it. Think about our envirronment it is already polluted and this is just going to cause more polution. We don't get any oil out of this. And also think about this, if the weather is really bad and there is a tornando or a fire what if it catches on fire or gets picked up in the storm? There will be a huge oil spill or a huge explosion.

  • It doesn't help America

One needs to realize that this pipeline IS NOT FOR AMERICA. The oil comes from Canada and goes to the Gulf of Mexico where it is shipped worldwide. None of the oil actually goes to America. There is no reason for such a pipeline to be allowed in American soil.

  • We don't need this oil.

The construction jobs are short term. The only long term jobs will be low pay clean up work when, not if, there are oil spills.
This isn't about energy, it's about politics. Our efforts should be focused
on the environment. The value of this pipeline will not add anything to the states it passes thru. It is only a distraction from the real potential damages done.

  • 41,965 jobs will be laid off

Also, if it spills that would be horrible because 830,000 barrels of oil will be transported from Canada to the U.S. every day

  • Think about this

One: the jobs it creates will be temporary; after the pipeline is built the thousands of construction workers will without a job again
Two: If one thing goes wrong it can have devastating effects for the people who live there. It only takes on spill to pollute water.
Three: Even if you don't really care about the environment, you should realize that what happens to the earth effects everyone including you. If the water is polluted it will poison the cattle, have negative effects on the crops, and also be detrimental to your personal health

  • Stop thinking about your own belly!

Yes, the pipeline might create economic benefits but it is time to stop thinking about only human benefits (America America America) ! The Earth, the forest, water, and animals are dying, it is UNREPLACEBLE! Are you guys only going to realize it when it comes to an end??? Soon enough we all are going to feel the damage that humans have done to this planet, and then it will be too late, not only for the animals, but for humans too! Money DOES NOT buy water, or air, or life!
