  • Absolutely, arm the Ukraine and perhaps get involved directly

We need use the power we have to fight injustice in the world, Russia's actions against Ukraine are 100% unacceptable. They are using their resources against a smaller, more vulnerable nation. If they don't want to give their sovereignty up, Russia has no right to deny them that fundamental human right. If Russia wants to dictate others, it's up to the powerful nations of the world, namely the US, to stop them.

  • It's time Russia quit this game

Now I'm not saying that the US should just start war with Russia, but we need to acknowledge that Russia isn't the biggest dog on the block, and they can't do whatever they want. Send arms to Ukraine. If Russia retaliates, host NATO wargames in Ukraine or Poland. Show them that we're serious. There is no reason for the US to fear Russia. Their military is weak compared to the combined might of NATO.

  • Protecting from Russia

For example I support a man to fight with his neighbour. Firstly I give some advise about beating. Times pass and the man needs more and I must give weapons because he can't beat with ideas. On the other side He must protect from his neighbour. He can't beat but decelerate. I don't consider about the man and his neighbour. I consider my profits. So The U.S must give weapons to Ukraine.

  • Who is on Americas side Russia or Ukraine?

Giving weapons to Ukraine is like fighting Russia. Last time I checked Russia is not on our side and I want to bring up this fact. France helped America in the Revolutionary war. This is sort of like what's happening with Ukraine and Russia. We are giving freedom from Russian socialism by giving them weapons.

  • Screw the Western governments

Look what Western support of the rightist Ukrainian revolutionaries has accomplished for the Ukrainians so far! Isn't it wonderful that there is a civil war going on?

These people who claim to support democracy abolished the Communist Party. Some are also idiots. Take Arseniy Yatsenyuk, for example, who wanted to honor the "brave soldiers of the UPA" and who thinks the Soviet Union invaded Germany and Ukraine in Operation Barbarossa. Take Klitschko, who asked for the Germans' help in building a wall, citing how good they were at building the Berlin Wall.

There is no evidence at all that Russia covertly supports the Ukrainian rebels.

  • No it will be a escalation.

Giving weapons to Ukraine will no doubt cause a strong reaction from Russia. Russia, which now covertly supports the separatist, can start to overtly support them with weapons and troops. This little conflict can turn into more than just a proxy war. A political solution has to be the only option. Ukraine isn't important enough for use to use taxpayers money to support and isn't worth the risk of a confrontation with Russia

  • NO! Unless we want to start WWIII

Giving weapons to Ukraine would create many problems.

Doing this would escalate the situation, seeing as the USA is indirectly attacking Russia, which could even be seen as a declaration of war by Vladimir Putin.

A war with Russia would be fun for either side, especially now, with the US in economic trouble, and the end of several wars bringing in tens thousands of veterans. The last thing we need is a war between two major world powers.

A war with Russia would not be like the war against terror, it will affect Americans greatly. Plus, Russia has nukes, and if they were losing the war, they wouldn't be afraid to use them.

Nuclear war? Most certainly a bad idea.

There are WAY better ways of solving this crisis, like diplomacy.

  • Russia Will Nuke us.

This sort of thing will only lead to a World War 3 much sooner than needed. There's no doubt Russia will bomb us if we try to intervene. We need Russia as an ally. We have no business over international relations regarding other countries. US may still be considered the world superpower for now- but the role will quickly shift to a country like India or China. The world is not our responsibility. We don't need Russia to hate us again leading to another cold war.

    Stupidest idea ever.

  • NOPE not GIving

Giving the weapons to ukraine not only causing russia more problems and conflicts and might even start a war. Starting a war will casue mass destcurition and might kill millons of people on the process. This is why war is not a good option as of giving the weapons to uraine

  • Katherine Gassi says:

Russian army is better and I think it isn't a good moment to USA to be accepted by Ukraine and hated by more countries. Actually almost everything countries thinks like me, so USA should protect their respect. And what has Ukraine to provide to Usa? The answer is clear: nothing.

  • Hypocritical and Counter-productive

Let's ignore for a second that Russia is a major superpower and we don't really want to pick fights with such entities. Just in case you are a war-hungry psycho who wants to kick the Ruskies commie butts, consider the fact that throwing weapons into Ukraine right now is like throwing a canister of gasoline into a flaming building that's about to collapse and kill many people. And you are supposed to be the self-proclaimed fire fighter who yells at pyromaniacs for starting fires. And now look what you're doing!

  • Definitely no. NO!!!!

Giving weapons to Ukraine will just cause a strong reaction from russia. I agree with you, HumbleAfrican. It isn't worth the risk or raising money to support getting weapons to Ukraine, or the confrontation of russia. Plus, hasn't america already nosed into too many of other countries' business and caused conflicts ?

Yeah, and Ukraine's elected government shouldn't have been protected from the West either.
