  • "The Reveluotionary war"

During the revolutionary war we were aided by France the netherlands and some other countries. The least we could do is return the favor. But then again the us keeps heavily raising taxes because they are in debt and they make the people pay. Also they do pay the people back sometimes.(strawman)

  • Yes, but only when they need it horribly

Americas is in a lot of debt and is struggling on its own. We should help, but only if we know it will benefit and if they truly need it. But at the same time, no one helped us when we went thru hurricane Katrina. No one came to our aid.

  • Yes We Should !

If we don't help then we won't be able to get help when we need it. There won't be any country that would want to help us because we didn't help anybody else but ourselves. We should lend a hand. Anybody could need help at some point in time. Yes

  • We should help them

Other countries needs help. It'll be a shame if they don't help. But in order to help, we should see our own needs to be able to interfere with the other countries. They should totally help, cause all us are gods children. We're all created Equal. Nobody is Different. NOBODY!

  • They WANT help

Some people here in America are actually to stubborn to receive help. Other countries, however, that need help, will take any help possible. Americans get into bad situations and then, rather then excepting help, push it away and claim: "I can do things all on my own, without your help"

  • Yes, but choose how and when purposefully.

The United States should help other countries when appropriate, but within certain guidelines. First, the primary duty of the United States government is to protect its own people, and assistance to others should never conflict with that. When well-chosen, aiding others will in fact protect our own interests. Second, the U.S. should make sure that the help we give is consistent with our principles. Money which ends up lining the pockets of corrupt government officials, or that supports practices such as forced abortions in the name of "women's health" are harmful. Fourth, the U.S. should recognize that we are not responsible for all the world's problems and cannot solve them all by throwing money or resources at them, and that aid does not necessarily buy friendship. We should seek to find cases where U.S. assistance, whether military or material, will actually make a real difference. Except for in cases of disaster relief, aid which helps individuals develop skills is far more valuable than simply providing money or food, which give only temporary relief to a deeper problem.

  • Other countries help

Yes, I do think that the United States should definitely help other countries when/if they need it. We would look pathetic if we didn't. So many other countries are without good food and healthcare, so we should offer some services to them. We should also help as much as we can during any natural disasters.

  • We have a horrible world image

We are nearing the end of an empire, and we have a horrible image. Helping out countries who are in need when we can afford it is the right thing to do. Part of our horrible image comes from the crappy things we do to other countries that average citizens aren't willing to admit.

  • Go USA yes

Why should we help other countries when our country isn't even in check. If we help other countries then we get allies but if we join one side then the other side will hate us. We can't win if we join the fight, its all just pointless. Get our country in check then it wouldn't be as bad but were so far in debt it is actually hurting us!

  • The US shouldn't be giving foreign aid.

The United States needs to be more concerned about themselves than other countries. When Katrina hit, no one came to help us, but when a turtle dies in the middle east we just want to give them money. The only problem is that we dont have ANY money to give. An estimated 20% of the United States's budget for each year is given away in foreign aid...And seeing as we are over budget every year by billions of dollars, i just believe its a better idea to keep the money where its needed.

  • Not at the moment.

We have high poverty, a huge deficit, anti-US sentiment around the world (just look online, even people in countries we are allied with don't like us, even the ones we help protect), lost civil liberties here at home, and not abroad, and many other things. If we have low poverty, high surpluses, the people around the world are asking for help, we should consider. But we should end ALL foreign aid at the moment.

  • Help Our Own First

No, the U.S. should not help other countries. The U.S. should see to its own citizens before improving conditions in other countries. How can the United States offer financial aid to foreign countries when we have people here who cannot afford food, shelter or medical care? How can we condone these billions of dollars being given out while so many here struggle every day without help?

  • Help ourselves first

The Us is 17 trillion dollars in debt, we don't have the time or money to help other countries. We are already supporting them enough, we need more money going towards the us, not foreign countries. We have recived little to no help at all in return. The us needs to help themselves

  • American is for Americans

In a country where people die everyday on the street can we really justify taking food out of their mouths just to put it into a foreigner's ? Three are three house to every one American yet millions live and die on the street everyday! Nobody has free healthcare but these "outsiders" can receive the very best of care. It is not economically sound to give away billions to persons who will not help the United States as only her citizens can. We should be concentrating all our money and power into helping our country and our citizens not in fixing the rest of the world's problems. Let me fix mine and then I will have a look at yours!

  • Yes, but only when they need it horribly

Americas is in a lot of debt and is struggling on its own. We should help, but only if we know it will benefit and if they truly need it. But at the same time, no one helped us when we went thru hurricane Katrina. No one came to our aid.

  • No we shouldn't.

It's not Americas fault other countries are poor and homeless. If they need money they should make their own, not beg for money from us.
We're already in dpept so much as it is, we need to help Americans before we help other countries. And half of the countries were helping out hate us and are trying to bomb us. Peace out from ginger

  • World Superman America?

Not enough money for scheduled social security payments, record number of people on food stamps since the program was created, unemployment rate horrible, first time ever to have the debt ceiling raised, over 16 trillion deficit. Detroit in ruins and no money to fix the infrastructure or crime, for the first time ever we had a government shut down showing we cant even keep all of our own government running. This also delayed the federal tax refunds. If we cant keep our own government and country running why are we sending billions over seas every year? We just sent Philippines 30 plus million for the disaster and that is one thing but now just announced we are sending 40 million for there navy defense. This is one example of many, many examples. Why are we paying for other country's navy and defense when we can't even keep our own government and country running?. It's like your house having a leaking roof but spending your money to fix the roof on guy 's house across the street and while you are at it take out a loan to give him new windows. In the end your left with a leaking roof destroying your home, crushing debt from loans and no money to pay it. And you will find the guy across the street don't like you anyway but was glad to take your hand out.
