The U.S. should legalize selling human organs The U.S. should run highly regulated programs for people who want to sell their organs for profit and people should be allowed to decide forg of human organs would cause many problems. People who were in desperate situations would resort to selling a kidney or part of a liver, which would be dangerous and life-threatening. Since selling an organ is illegal in the US, and it is very difficult to get to another country to traffic your organs now, the rate of organ trafficking is relatively low in the US.

Current System Guarantees Equality I do not believe the United States should legalize the selling of human organs. The current system we have guarantees equality across patients. I believe that if selling human organs becomes legal, then the organs will go to the person who can pay the highest price. This will mean any poor person who needs an organ will most certainly not receive them.

Don't Sell People Human organ sales would create opportunities for black market organ sales. People who are already involved in child trafficking could increase their kidnapping and take more children to sell their organs. The sale of human organs would also cause many deserving people who are unable to afford a transplant to die.

  • The U.S. should legalize selling human organs

The U.S. should run highly regulated programs for people who want to sell their organs for profit and people should be allowed to decide for themselves that they are willing to sell an organ to make money. The regulation of selling organs for profit would stop donors from being operated on in unsafe conditions, it would make sure only viable organs were harvested, and it would bring much needed organs to people who are waiting on transplant lists.

  • The legalization of the sell of human organs would create a black market.

The legalization of the sell of human organs would create a black market that may actually increase crime in the illegal pursuit of organs. It may also lead the sell of organs that are not fit for transplant and ultimately harm transplant victims. The rich would definitely have an advantage in such a market as well.

  • Markets for organs

A free market for organs would benefit 10's of thousands of people a year while generating income for people in need of money. People can live with one kidney, and could freely sell theirs when in need of money (decreasing the cost of the organ for those in need and increasing availability). Organs should have clearly stated origins, without which it could encourage murder. Still, high quality hair can already be sold for high prices - how often do people randomly steal others' hair?

  • The government should pay for organs

If the government pays an equal price for all human organ donations that will motivate people to donate organs while at the same time keeping access to organs equal for all people regardless of income. This is the best solution. It would also get rid of the black market in organs.

  • No,the US should not legalize selling human organs.

No,the US should not legalize selling human organs.Human organs are things that only God can replace and he does not put any monetary value on things that he gives up and it would be against his will if we started to sell parts of our body for any amount of money.

  • It is a bad idea to legalize selling human organs.

Selling of human organs would cause many problems. People who were in desperate situations would resort to selling a kidney or part of a liver, which would be dangerous and life-threatening. Since selling an organ is illegal in the US, and it is very difficult to get to another country to traffic your organs now, the rate of organ trafficking is relatively low in the US.
