  • Money and Bloodshed

Let's think. So far, 2,300 Americans were killed, 20,000 injured, and even more will probably be faced with a LIFETIME of mental health scars and post-traumatic stress. Also, we're throwing money at a problem that can't go away that easy. Instead of feeding the issue more than $100 billion (yes, that says $100 billion) we should be doing more useful things such as building schools, educating people, and others. The thing is, NOTHING HAS CHANGED. The government is still corrupt, citizens have not become safer, and Afghanistan is still full of terrorist groups. Without a doubt, America being in the war has done nothing except weaken itself.

  • The U.S. has to withdraw from Afghanistan

The war on terror has cost us billions of dollars. That money could be used for education and healthcare. The war on terror has cost us thousands of lives, and I question whether those deaths were in vain. Lastly, we do not have a clear and decisive mission, we are just there indefinitely.

  • Invasion Shouldn't Have Happened in the First Place

Overseas wars have gone on long enough. It's time for the United States to leave Afghanistan's fate up to the people of the impoverished nation. A democracy is in place. Afghanistan can fend for its own security. No one wants to invade the country because the terrorist elements who attack western democracies have been eliminated.

  • It's time for the Afghans to build up their own country

The United States' invasion and occupation of Afghanistan was completely justified and the U.S. has made enormous strides in taking out extremists. In addition, the U.S. has also invested serious efforts in trying to make Afghanistan a stable and functional country. While this is a noble effort, ultimately only Afghanis can rebuild their country and after a period of time the U.S. occupation only serves to create resentment and instability among the population. The U.S. has punished its enemies, given its best effort to help the Afghanis, and now it is time to come home.

  • Yes, it is time to put an end to American war efforts overseas

I believe that the U.S. should withdraw from Afghanistan because our military has been engaged in that part of the world for well over a decade, and our nation has suffered tremendous financial strife and lives lost as a result. Because of our involvement in places like Afghanistan and Iraq, our military has been stretched incredibly thin. This, plus the debt the U.S. has incurred over the last decade are the primary reasons to withdraw from the county.

  • ISIS will attack again

If we leave Afghanistan, then the Taliban and terrorist groups can reform and attack the US again. Plus, troops are now in Afghanistan only to help them develop their country into a more democratic country. Keeping a few troops in Afghanistan will help keep the Taliban and terrorist groups at bay.
