Should the UN be in charge of the ethics of war worldwide?

  • Yes They Should

I believe the United Nations has grown to the point that it should be in charge of the ethics of war worldwide. We need a larger community that oversees problems like the torture that was conducted by the United States. I think we need that larger governing body to stop people like George Bush.

  • Yes, we need this.

Yes, the UN should be in charge of ethics of war worldwide. We need people from different parts of the world to come together and discuss issues that will effect the world. People of that country need to held accountable for any injustice that is happening in that country and come up with solutions to solve the problem.

  • The UN should not be in charge of worldwide ethics

Many cultures and communities have very different ideas of ethical behavior. Putting the UN in charge of worldwide ethics would be imposing a certain set of beliefs upon all people rather than allowing their unique sets of values to be honored. It would be impossible to honor all beliefs and traditions within one set of rules.

  • That would be a mess.

No, the UN should not be in charge of the ethics of war worldwide, because the UN would never be able to agree on uniform rules. Also, the UN would never be able to police the rules. They would have certain countries that would demand unreasonable things or that would refuse to participate.
