Should the United Nations take a more aggressive stance against countries or militias that utilize child soldiers?

  • Unacceptable Behavior In Modern day

The use of child soldiers is horrendous and tragic. The United Nations should take a firmer red line against those that recruit and use child soldiers. This may mean more military response and cutting off of the support structures that allow these countries and militias to exist. However, the damage done to these children can never fully be undone.

  • Yes, these children need to be saved

A large problem with the child soldiers, aside from the fact that their childhood is ripped away, is that once they are adults, there is only one thing they know how to do. Regardless of how long these child soldiers have been in the war, they are held responsible when they are 18.

  • Can't We All Agree On This

I think the United Nations should take a more aggressive stance against countries or militias that utilize child soldiers. I think most of can easily say that children should not be involved in war under any circumstances. Furthermore, they should not be brought together to create a military force. In these instances the UN should be very adamant and forceful.

  • The UN should advance charities for countries like this.

The United Nations should take a more aggressive stance against countries or militias that utilize child soldiers. This is because children should not be engaging in combat. They should be at home with their parents. The UN would do best to let the world know who these countries are and advance charities for them.
