  • Political Parties are a great way of keeping America divided

Democrats, Republicans, and third parties believe they offer real solutions to solve America's problems and they say they view themselves as Americans first. But, they are lying! They play the racial card and drive America further down the road to disaster. Political parties and elections will never work, we need to move away from democracy because democracy is a failure, what democracy is a code word for distruction.

  • Everything that is wrong with America

I disagree that political parties are just a way of organizing those beliefs. In fact, it is the other way around. In order to be a part of a political party, you must conform your beliefs to what the political party as a whole believes. That leads to group think and very view original ideas.

Additionally, statistics show that the majority of the people in congress are now millionaires. So even with political parties, the top 1% are making your decisions for you.

  • I'm tired of watching the same old thing year after year

Let our representatives vote on what the people want for their states and eliminate the lobbyist in Washington. See where we are at today 10/8/2013 thanks to the political parties the government is shut down and maybe it should stay that way. Ban all parties from government permanently. My voice is never herd because the lobbyist have the money to buy it out, so what happened to ( we the people) I guess we should re-write it to say (we the lobbyist).

  • They dumb the system down

Aside from giving power to an even smaller number of people that run the party. And the two current political parties hold a monopoly of power throughout the whole country. Politicians feel obliged to join one or the other simply because there's no other way to get in . Furthermore, if we were to remove political parties, then regular Americans would be forced to do research on the candidates stances and beliefs. And their voting wouldn't be lowered to looking at their parties candidate and voting. Another problem with having political parties is the gridlock, issues become only two sided and never do we see either side being flexible on any issues. It's either all in or all out, and that's no way to maximize beneficial effects at all. If there were no political parties, our government would be much more flexible, successful and streamlined to provide the people what they are demanding.

  • No they shouldn't

It would be great if everyone in the government felt the same way and we could just pass laws faster. But people are always going to disagree with each other in the government. Political parties are just a way of organizing those beliefs that certain might have. Things would be better if people were more willing to cross party lines though

  • And Truly Become An Elitist Nation?

Yes, we need tougher regulations on political parties as well as their supporters (who they claim they cannot control). But if we eliminate political parties, we will truly become an elitist nation. Only the very wealthy will be in power, because they will be the only ones who can afford to run. As it is, it is hard enough for an "average American" to garner support from any party to run. Still, the opportunity is available. Without the war-chest cash of a political party, it becomes impossible. Personally, I just don't see the Top 1% making the "Best" decisions for everybody!
