The US should decrease it's dependence on fossil fuels and invest more in clean hydroelectricity. In this way, we can be energy independent and we wont have to depend on foreign nations for oil. Hydroelectricity will also improve air quality and help to prevent global warming caused by carbon emissions.
The United States should build more hydropower dams for sure. Building these types of dams is good for the environment and an efficient way to get power. It also provides a lot of jobs because it is a great undertaking to build on of these types of dams. This can provide jobs for 1000's of people.
Even though it is better for the environment, provides lots of jobs, efficient way to get energy, etc. It can ruin the habitats of animals and cause floods in forests and small villages nearby. It also costs lots of money to build Hydropower Dams. (For example, the James Bay Hydroelectric Project took up a lot of space and the James Bay Cree People lost their home)
