  • Imagine how many will vote!

Listen. Lets say that you are sixteen and you are now able to vote, you will definitely go to the voting booth and have your say. Now that may be good for you but it will affect the votes by a very large margin. This is a bad thing because the teens will be swayed to vote for what , for example, their friends are voting for. Is this really what the USA wants? In the Scottish Referendum 75% or 16-17-year-olds voted compared to 34% of 45-79-year-olds. Think it won't affect the votes? Think again.

  • The voting age should be 18

No, I think that the voting age should remain at the age of 18 and not be moved to the 16 year old level. I believe that people who are only 16 are not able to comprehend what impact voting has, and may not take it seriously whereas 18 year olds will take it more seriously and vote more often.

  • No, the minimum voting age should remain at 18

Voting requires a certain amount of maturity level as well as freedom. It is not a large gap between the two ages, but one is considered an adult and the other is considered a child. It is also too easy for the parents of a 16 year old to influence or even direct the child to vote in a certain way.
