Should we be able to sue Supreme Court Justices for failing to recuse themselves in cases where there is a clear conflict of interest?

  • Impeachment Isn't Enough

We need another way to hold Supreme Court justices accountable for their actions when there is a blatant conflict of interest. For example, Justices Roberts, Alito, Thomas, and Scalia were given all-expenses paid trips to meetings for a group called the American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC for short. Yet, they still ruled in favor of corporations who were members of ALEC when their cases reached the Supreme Court. Even when ALEC wasn't directly involved, they made rulings that benefited ALEC's members. Currently, the only way to remove bad Supreme Court justices is through impeachment. With Congress in almost constant gridlock, we need another way to keep the Supreme Court in check.
