We should cease all of the exploitation of resources in the Arctic region. The Arctic region should be preserved just like many of the other regions that we are exploiting. The cost and damage that we are cause the Arctic region does not outweigh the benefits that we are getting.
Fossil fuels are a finite resource and are damaging to the environment on many levels including during extraction and during use. Rather than expanding fossil fuel extraction, we should focus on clean, renewable energy sources to replace fossil fuels. Then we would no longer run the risk of an energy crisis as the supply dwindles and the environment would be cleaner.
