  • Yes we need them

Yes. We need GM Crops Genetic foods are the way forward. We will need them eventually, but it is still vital that we test them sufficiently to prove their safety and try to remove their stigma.

We should always be trying to improve the methods of farming using these species of plants, not to mention the methods of creating them in the first place.

People are afraid of new things.

  • Only plants that need it.

Only plants that really need it like the papaya, the species was dying so they used GMO's to help them be immune to what was killing it. Now papayas won't die out and go extinct. This was the same with corn, all corn thats grown now are have GMO in it.

  • Why must there always be human input

We humans keep getting involved with things we don't need to! We need to leave things alone and let it do it's thing naturally and only step in when extremely necessary! GM hasn't gone through enough test procedures, it may be harmful for our future generations and then it will be too late.

  • Genetically Modified Foods are very bad for your health

Big agricultural companies like Monsanto are in the business of making a profit and don't care much for what happens to us when we eat their unnatural foods. How can you trust a company whose own employees eat at canteens/eateries where GM foods are banned? Science shows they cause cancer.

  • Feed the world in other ways

One of the main arguments for GM crops is to feed more people. Small scale agriculture is the answer to feeding people, not big companies controlling the whole process from seeds to factory and the support for GM crops tend to be driven by these big companies who have a vested interest in their use.

  • No one Knows

How can we be sure that the crops that are modified to resist disease and pesticides will not evolve into wild populations (types of weeds etc. ) that prevent essential plants from growing. Evolution cannot be controlled by science is it completely natural and random.

We still do not fully understand the long term effects on GM foods these must be figured out, or everyone may be doomed to live with the consequences.
