  • Ivory will always be traded

Let local governments decide what is best. African farmers battle to keep elephants from destroying crops. And many farmers are mauled by elephants. Lift the ban and watch legal trade and elephants flourish! Banning ivory only increases poaching. That's money those countries could greatly benefit from. I say help the elephant with legal trade.

  • Lift the ban

Banning ivory only raises prices and makes it worth while for poachers. If we allowed legal trade and harvested ivory from elephants that die naturally , and limited hunting. Poaching would disappear.....The ban has caused illegal poaching. Lifting the ban would help the economies of many countries in Africa. Travel, guides, lodging, permits, are just a few of the local businesses that will benefit.

  • No killing, but trading is okay.

Like a farm, we could trim the tusks in a closed area, because the elephants are unharmed and the ivory tusks grow back. Just because we can't wait for getting an unneeded profit doesn't mean we should ruin it for everyone else by committing immoral crimes to an endangered species.

  • Trading yes, poaching no.

By finding moral ways to alleviate the global demand for ivory, we could curb the effect of poaching on the native elephant populations currently in danger. While I find ivory and fur to be disgusting and symbols of excess, I do believe that we need to find a solution short of totally overhauling these nations' economies. Everyone needs to be is employed. The above proposed ivory farm is not a terrible idea because the tusk, if trimmed, does grow back.

  • Yes, to save the elephants.

Because of the ban on ivory trading poachers have to kill elephants for the ivory because it is the quickest way of obtaining the ivory tusks. By lifting the ban, elephant farms could be established to raise elephants expressly for their ivory without killing them. It wouldn't be any different than raising cattle, hogs or chickens.

  • Protecting elephants is the moral thing to do.

I think that we as a people of the world have a moral obligation to protect animals that cannot protect themselves. Elephants are being hunted to extinction because of their ivory tusks, and we are helping them by banning the trade of said tusks. It is our moral duty to do so.

  • No, the ban on ivory trading should not be lifted.

Killing elephants for the ivory in their tusks is barbaric. The ban on ivory trading should never be lifted. The only exception would be if ivory could be used to cure some horrible disease, like cancer. Otherwise, there is no excuse for slaughtering those majestic animals so we can decorate our homes!

  • Save the elephants

An elephant is killed for their ivory every 25 minutes.
A bullet from a gun doesn't kill them, it acts merely as a bee sting does to you.
Their faces are hacked apart with knives or saws.
Lifting the ban will not save these creatures. It will increase the demand for their ivory.
Tusks are not facial decorations. They are a key part of these elephants' existence, just as your hands are to you.
Why should people even consider lifting the ban as a solution to the barbaric killings? It will do nothing but incense the problem.

  • It should not happen

Using ivory is dumb and stupid beCAUSE IT KILLS millions a year so there that is my statement so my advice don't do it.It is bad for you and you may like it but this is my opion and i stand my ground there it so people who do it should not so stop!!!

  • No elephant killing at all

  • Stop this now before it is too late!

It is barbaric! Anyone who does kill elephants should suffer as much as they do, it is totally unecessary thing to do, you don't need to kill them and having a hobby of killing a living, breathing thing is psychic. The only thing governament is promising us is peace, but peace in the world for now is just a utopia, if we can't love and protect animals, how are we going to protect ourselves?

  • Unethical and cruel

Ivory trading is unethical and cruel to animals. Elephants are being killed around the world due to greed of business profit. We should be focusing on protecting the wildlife and biodiversity of our world. Elephants are illegally killed by poachers for their ivory tusks and sold at extremely high prices, making it a high want because it is a luxurious product.

  • Of course not

No. Just no. What kind of monster are you if you think that killing an innocent species just so that you can have pretty items is okay? Because it's not. It's inhumane and cruel. If elephants or rhinos go extinct, what are you going to do? You can't do anything.
