  • Ivory will always be traded

Let local governments decide what is best. African farmers battle to keep elephants from destroying crops. And many farmers are mauled by elephants. Lift the ban and watch legal trade and elephants flourish! Banning ivory only increases poaching. That's money those countries could greatly benefit from. I say help the elephant with legal trade.

  • Lift the ban

Banning ivory only raises prices and makes it worth while for poachers. If we allowed legal trade and harvested ivory from elephants that die naturally , and limited hunting. Poaching would disappear.....The ban has caused illegal poaching. Lifting the ban would help the economies of many countries in Africa. Travel, guides, lodging, permits, are just a few of the local businesses that will benefit.

  • No killing, but trading is okay.

Like a farm, we could trim the tusks in a closed area, because the elephants are unharmed and the ivory tusks grow back. Just because we can't wait for getting an unneeded profit doesn't mean we should ruin it for everyone else by committing immoral crimes to an endangered species.

  • Trading yes, poaching no.

By finding moral ways to alleviate the global demand for ivory, we could curb the effect of poaching on the native elephant populations currently in danger. While I find ivory and fur to be disgusting and symbols of excess, I do believe that we need to find a solution short of totally overhauling these nations' economies. Everyone needs to be is employed. The above proposed ivory farm is not a terrible idea because the tusk, if trimmed, does grow back.

  • Yes, to save the elephants.

Because of the ban on ivory trading poachers have to kill elephants for the ivory because it is the quickest way of obtaining the ivory tusks. By lifting the ban, elephant farms could be established to raise elephants expressly for their ivory without killing them. It wouldn't be any different than raising cattle, hogs or chickens.

  • Protecting elephants is the moral thing to do.

I think that we as a people of the world have a moral obligation to protect animals that cannot protect themselves. Elephants are being hunted to extinction because of their ivory tusks, and we are helping them by banning the trade of said tusks. It is our moral duty to do so.

  • No, the ban on ivory trading should not be lifted.

Killing elephants for the ivory in their tusks is barbaric. The ban on ivory trading should never be lifted. The only exception would be if ivory could be used to cure some horrible disease, like cancer. Otherwise, there is no excuse for slaughtering those majestic animals so we can decorate our homes!

  • Elephants are being hurt and possibly being killed!!!!!!!

No bc no because no because Elephants are being rapped by nets and pulled by people who are selfish. Killing elephants for home decoration is simply wrong because we could use wood duh... Elephants do not deserve to be hurt and taken away their only defense and put on a farm because they are used to roaming around free in a big space.

  • Needs to stop

I'm not sure that banning ivory trade is going to end this big of a battle but this has to stop. It's downright selfish. No one needs ivory but elephants and to kill a kind giant like that is cruel. How can you face an animal like that and feel no remorse as you hack away at its only line of defense. Not only are you hurting this helpess animal, you are minimizing its chance of survival as you leave it defenseless. People are extremely selfish and no elephant deserves to become someone's fancy decor because they couldn't fight back

  • Think of you life and how life and the world it self will Change without elephants

By saying yes that mean you ether are selfish or you don't want your children/grandchildren!! You need to think about what they are doing! They are rapping elephants in nets pull them down where they can't move and chop of their tusk! And think about it their the ones who grew it and just by chopping of their tusks you make them die! How? By them bleeding to death, I'm not kindling this needs to be shut down before more and more thousands are getting killed!

  • Bruh save dem

Elephants are pals, i dunno about you but one day when aliens come down for a quick visit to destroy our planet they'll be taking a rain cheque if they see some big grey monsters with vacuums on there face. But if they come down and all they see is tiny little humans they'll be like "well they look useless, kill them all what can they do to defend themselves?" but if they see an elephant DAMN YOU GOT ANOTHER THING COMMIN. So yeah keep the elephants because you never know. If this doesnt convince you I dont know what will

  • Elephants all over the world are being killed for stupid reasons.

Elephants all over the world are being killed because of human greed. I hope anyone who says yes about this debate feels incredibly bad because we don't need ivory. The elephants are endangered because of peoples stupid actions. We have to make a choice and really, there is a wrong choice people can't do bad things to these poor endangered animals.

  • It is very wrong

If the police say you can hunt ivory they are basically saying "Okay you can go kill elephants, have fun!!" Since the species population is dropping drastically, we have to stop killing the elephants and rhinos. Soon, at the rate we are going, we will soon have to say goodbye to the elephants and rhinos which would be very sad because they are both such amazing animals. So all in all, we have to stop ivory hunting and save our beloved rhinos and elephants.
