I don’t think that we should try to reverse the flow of the
Chicago River. We shouldn’t play with
Mother Nature. These types of actions
can have many unintended consequences.
The engineers that try to reverse the flow may miscalculate, and the
river could flood, killing scores of innocent people.
No, we should not reverse the flow of the Chicago River, because engineers initially reversed the flow of the Chicago River after much deliberation, and the current flow is working. When engineers deliberated reversing flow back in the late 1800s and early 1900s, they took careful time to figure out the best plan. There is no reason to throw out this feat of engineering just to change something now.
