  • No more money for science, please.

It's the adults' obligation to teach children to choose jobs which are socially useful. I wish more parents and teachers would be able to explain to children that they choose to become medics or lawyers or entertainment professionals or sportsmen/sportswomen instead of scientists (engineers would be OK though). This would positively limit the amount of money spent in science (and therefore to space science) because fewer and fewer scientists would graduate each year -- effectively drying up the source of the problems, i.e. having to justify paying for sallaries of astronomers, physicists, chemists, mathematicians, geologists, biologists and a whole lot of others. Make those kids work elsewhere! When the space shuttle program ended, it was a lost opportunity to scale back on space exploration.

  • Colombus was driven by money

Colombus went to explore because he had been motivated by money and possibly a bit of curiosity, now the space exploration programmes take money but how are we benefiting? Educating our children on something they might never experience or truly understand because we still need to keep on spending to find out the rest seems pointless. And if we need to find new places to inhabit, we are basically saying that if we can't save our own planet go find a new one. That doesn't seem like a very good lesson to teach to the next generation. Continuing the exploration of space would mean giving up on Earth, spending all the money on possibly just a dream. What if just out of our galaxy is as far as any probe or human will ever get? It seems just too much of a risk. Why don't we sit down and solve Earth's problems before flying off into the unknown?

  • We can find something harmful to us on Earth

Everyone else is saying it is benefiticial to our understanding of space but every time we go in space we are putting astronauts lives in danger. Plus others say it is only 7% of the U.S. government spending but that just means less money for childerens education and medical research

  • Space exploration is a total waste of money.

One of the first men on the moon, was Neil Armstrong as we all now. And to mankind that was a huge success. So, why give more money and more success to NASA when we could just solve the problems on Earth before making more problems in our Solar System? Also, NASA has been asking for more money when they already ask for as much as 1.6 billion dollars per year! But we could at least make heated homeless shelters for the people everywhere around the world we live in today are suffering of freezing weather, in the Midwest and Northeast, where the weather has been bone chilling. Literally. So my stance is quite clear, we need to spend money on more important things like homeless shelters for example, and cancer treatments, before giving 'our selves the pleasure of seeing whats really in outer space.

  • It has helped us in reaching new heights

My supporting claim is that space has helped us advance in new technology that is now very important in modern every day jobs. Like satellites those were first used as space technology. Also firefighters suits they are based on space suits. Our space technology will never stop improving as long as we are still here

  • Focusing on the wrong thing.

Ummm. Why are we focusing on outer space? If they haven't found anything yet, what makes you think they will when they have been trying for a long time, to find life on other planets or even aliens. It's not worth the time and money when we should be foucusing on other things and not worry about the future just the present and work on what we have now and what we have in this world and the planet that we are living on right this minute and fix that first instead of spending billions of dollars on spaceships and going up into space. Those huge ships are more than 400 billion dollars. The United States is in debt 1.7 trillion dollars and we need that money. There are over 3.3 million homeless people. We should fix their lives first and not stop the science exploration forever. Just for a little until we can get brothers and sisters of the untied states that the government said they were all created equal. But are they no. There is still rasisim and people homeless and that have no food or a caring family. There is also so much pollution on this earth we should fix that and make bigger and better homes and make them cheaper by saving the money from the spaceships and give them to the homeless or the people that need them and don't have much money. Astronauts and all of them are just focusing on the totally wrong thing! We need to focus on what is happening right now and what we have this second. We can worry about the future later and just help those in need and after we get our whole world and community fix we can go back to the space exploration. But our state needs the money and space exploration is taking away from that! We need to think about the earth rather than what we might not ever find but spend money and time and effort on space exploration.

  • Should we continue exploring space?

I think that we should because you may never know if there is a cure for cancer out there or if tomorrow might be the exact day that we find something. Clues or anything. If we stop everything we out into the earlier explorations will be wasted, including money and the items.

  • Should we stop space exploration?

We already know about the most essential parts of the Solar System- the Sun provides us with energy and emits UV radiation, and the moon affects the tides and the stars are used for navigation. That is all we need to know about space. The planets have no atmosphere and are useless to us. Why do we need to explore when there is such a beautiful Earth to work upon? We are already causing severe damage to the Earth with our pollution and waste, and now we are running off to Mars to do the same. Lets just save the money and fix Earth's future first.

  • The Oceans of Earth

Usually when you did something wrong or something went badly, you wouldn’t try or do it again. But they still did. Even if astronauts, many of our talented citizens disappear they will still continue for the search. But to find what exactly? How do they even know if they will succeed? Do they know how much money we wasted on this? Do they even know what their doing? But they are still willing to take that chance.

According to many reliable articles, they say that we only have explored 5% of the oceans of earth. So we do we keep focusing on out there when we still have variables of things we don't know of down here.
Not just our planets oceans, there are so many more we can find here on earth. But they just don't get it.

  • There is a whole universe out there.

We have a vast open space which we call the universe, as of now we have focussed mostly on our own planet and not given thought to what lies beyond our home. Space has near infinite resources avalable for anyone who uses it, but we cant use these resources if we cant find them or know where to find them. These resources will become very important in the future and may propel humanity to a brighter, and smarter future where we are effecient and can sustain large populations. While the exploration of space can be costly, it is worth it. Several inventions that change our lives everyday have come from the exploration of space and we can continue to improve our lives by doing this. One day, our ultimate fate will be to leave the planet, we will become the nomads of space, drifting along the cosmos we search for a new home, but we cannot do this if we do not have the resources or knowledge to understand how interstellar travel works. I say that space exploration is key to our future and will never be a waste of resources, it will ultimatley be what saves our species from extinction.

"There are two kinds of species: species that will go extinct, and species that are space fairing."

  • This might sound crazy

We shouldn't stop space exploration, just think about it, it's not impossible that we might find the remmenants of another civilization and maybe benefit from their technology. Also many asteroids and planets contain resources that we can use such as iron on some of the asteroids in many meteor belts

  • This land needs a replacement.

We have been polluting the earth, and slowly destroying its environment. Soon this place will be full of garbage, and it will take a long time to clean it up. If we explore space, we might find a replacement. Plus, we have developed rockets and space stations, it is too late to turn back now.

  • Don't stop space exploration.

Earth won't last forever. Sure, we shouldn't give up on our homeworld, but eventually something that we cannot control will happen. Say a very large planetoid the size of our Moon is on a path that will cause it to crash into Earth. We don't have enough nukes in the world to deflect something of that size into a new orbit. It would be like a child trying to push an armored tank off course. If we cannot protect our world from such events, our only option (if we want to survive) is to flee to a new world and start anew. For those of you who say going into space is a waste of money, think about the International Space Station. A camera was added to the station that assists farmers in the US Midwest by scanning for the best areas to plant crops. A water cleaning system that was developed on the ISS is being put to use in a small town with a very unclean water supply. NOAA is sending a satellite far out into space to observe the Sun and watch for early signs of solar storms that could wreak havoc on Earth's electrical systems. Finally, some of the most important machines we have put into space are communications and GPS satellites. Communications satellites allow people to communicate with each other around the globe faster than any mail carrier or short-range device. Satellite phones allow people in areas without cable or radio tower access (such as a mountain wilderness) to keep in touch with other people or even call for help. GPS satellites are satellites positioned in specific orbits around Earth to help people navigate without having to use maps or even the stars. Yes, people can navigate with maps, but a simple error in knowing where people are on said maps could lead to disastrous consequences.

  • We should not stop exploring space

Why should we stop exploring something that has helped us in so many ways. What if there was something to happen to earth what would we do... Nothing because we have stopped exploring space. Astronauts have discovered planets similar to earth like kepler 118 we could live on this planet if something does happen to earth. Exploration of space is such a beautiful and wonderful thing.

  • Holding back dreams

Some people have dreams to explore space . Others wanna stop it. So if someone said yes and was really powerful they could hold back the people who want to explore space, and crush them for not letting them try their dream. Others who inspire help the inspired to be like them.

  • Why should we?

We might find other planets to settle on.In the future it is very likely that Earth will become inhabitable. In some way we r saving humanity by space exploration..The next Gen tech we have been developing will bring us success in finding habitable planets in the near future.Space holds many wonders like nebula which are fascinating.

  • We should not stop space exploration

There are to many things to explore. If we stop space exploration now, who else will find out these amazing things? I mean how would it cross someone's mind to even think of the idea to stop the wonderful amazing space exploration. I was just learning about the moon and outer space, and it was really fun. I wouldn't know that if their wasn't space exploration.

  • If you think adventure is dangerous try routine. It is lethal

All the people that vote yes are the people who hold back humanity. Not everyone leaves the cave but the people who do leave the cave are the ones who make great discoveries. And if it wasn't for the people who told the rises we wouldn't have this great technol we have today!
