    The framers of the constitution understood that the needs of the public would change with time and for this reason they allowed for the government to adapt and change its laws. We should make significant adaptations to the framwork of our government in order to meet the needs of the new century.

  • Yes, it's no longer 1776.

    It is no longer 1776 when the nation of the United States was started. And anyway we do not follow its guidelines of being a pure democracy. So just as we made changes to voting rights and such before, we need to look at the electoral college and other things and make changes.

    There are things that our forefathers could not have predicted when they wrote the Constitution all those years ago. We face much different challenges and threats and there are some things that we could change to help our democratic system be stronger. However, this process would be very long and hard.

    I believe our forefathers drafted the constitution and bill of rights to adaptable. Our current age would be unthinkable to these individuals and there are several things in our government that should be altered because of this. I do not believe they has the foresight to understand how technology and progress would change the world, in the future.

    No, we should not update our system of democracy for the 21st century, because democracy is a proven system. Socialism is the system that is outdated, as is statist rule. These methods have been proven not to work. Democracy has been considered since the time of the Greeks. It is the best system we have, and is as current and modern.
