Wind is never ending as in we can never ever run out of this form of energy. The only problem is that Windmills are very expensive to build. Wind is the next step to living a green life. In Michigan they have a wind powered town. They use it to power downtown lighting. Windmills as far as the eye can see.
Wind turbines are starting to be used a fair amount, yes the most expensive wind turbine is £2 - £3.3 million but that is returned with a maximum 5 years after that 5 years later and you will have saved so much money it would help towns with a debt always there paying electricity bills!
Using wind energy as a way to combat global warming makes perfect sense. Wind energy requires no fossil fuels of any type to run, as the power is supplied by a natural source. Also, there are absolutely no emissions of any type that could cause our ozone layer to deteriorate. Wind energy can supply power to whole cities. Many urban cities now use solar energy to power their downtown lighting, for example. Wind energy is the next step in our world going green
Wind is known to create plenty of energy, and the technology is still being designed and perfected. Wind energy is renewable and available at no cost to the environment if it can be channeled and stored correctly. It could possibly be harnessed by installing wind farms out at sea, then carried to land where it would not hurt wildlife or annoy people.
Using wind energy as a way to combat global warming makes perfect sense. Wind energy requires no fossil fuels of any type to run, as the power is supplied by a natural source. And, there are absolutely no emissions of any type that could cause our ozone layers to deteriorate. Wind energy can supply power to whole cities. Many urban cities now use solar energy to power their downtown lighting, for a good example. Wind energy is the next step in our world going green.
Yes, wind power should be emphasized as an alternative. I think it's a good call all the way around; the more we can use natural resources, the more we can help the environment.
Although wind energy can not completely solve the problem of how to replace fossil fuels for energy, it can be one of the ways to help supplement, and therefore should be encouraged. Although there are some downsides to wind energy, using it tender with other methods, such as solar energy, can greatly decrease dependence on fossil fuels.
I believe wind energy should be utilized as an energy alternative form in order to fight against the harmful effects of global warming. To begin with, wind is free; there is no reason why we should not be harnessing an energy source that is readily available everywhere. Wind also does not run the risk of being depleted, leaving humans in a panic over sustainability. Not only is wind energy not harmful to the environment, developing a new energy source would also offer jobs and education for our youth over the importance of putting our own energy into ways of living that also takes care of the Earth.
It is important for us, as responsible citizens, to find ways to help slow the global warming problem. And, by using wind energy as an alternative form of energy, it will be possible to help save our earth. Wind is free, and abundantly available. And, it will help keep our world from becoming destroyed. If we can find alternative means to provide energy throughout the world, we should use it to its fullest.
One only needs to drive by any fuel station to see why we need to explore every alternative to fossil fuel dependence. With countries like China expanding at an incredible pace, this expansion will put additional strain on an already strained supply system. Every alternative to relieve this pressure on the use of fossil fuels for energy generation is a viable one.
Wind, although never ending does not occur very often at certain places on planet Earth. Because electricity can only be transferred by two different sources so far, I highly doubt it's possibility. First of all is to build electric wires but this is not possible when we need to be able to stretch across continents. Another way is to use batteries but the pollution batteries cost is equal or worse than coal burning. Hence, some nations will not be able to receive wind powered energy. This will increase the political differences between nations. Most countries nowadays rank development by the equality of the people in the country. If we take this up a scale, universally, wouldn't Earth's development be then judged by now equal cities or countries are?
My second point to make is that wind energy requires too much hardware supplies. In order to create coal powered electricity, a factory is all that is needed. On the other hand, wind power requires huge amounts of iron structures in order to create enough energy for people's uses. This can ultimately lead to two different issues. One is the shortage of common metals or plastics. These are common materials found in our lives and the emphasis of wind power may affect our living conditions. The other issue is that in 2014, one of the greatest current issues is over-population and greater land use needed. In order to create enough power through wind for everyone in the world, great amounts of plants are needed hence reducing the land use further. This creates a big issue with our land use. Our opponents has argued though, that we should carry wind plants out to sea but this creates another issue. Right now, "far out to sea" is not the property of any nation hence creating political disputes as of who owns the electricity. Also, due to technological issues, building sea plants out can cost great amounts including connecting the wind plants to the bottom of the sea. As humans, we can not possibly afford such costs.
My last statement is that wind energy can only create electricity. Electrical uses of fossil fuels is not the only, nor the biggest source of global warming. We should face it. Global warming occurs naturally from the sun hitting into the atmosphere, going up again due to reflections but still being trapped out by the atmosphere. This will cause the world to heat up eventually. Another big source of global warming is cars. Cars currently burn on fossil fuels which also contribute towards global warming. The opponent may argue that cars can run on electricity but an economical issue is involved here. On average, electric cars cost about 5000 more dollars in comparison to fossil fuel ran cars. The economical issue here is that not as many people can afford to buy cars.
In the end I would like to state that wind energy can help, but is not the final answer to our problem with global warming.
Some environmentalists think that wind energy is the answer to the threat of global warming. However, the existing fossil fuel technologies should be utilized to the fullest extent, and allowed to become more efficient, before we replace them with unproven technology. We should not replace the current energy structure until there is something that can do everything that fossil fuels can do. But it would need to do it faster, cheaper and more efficiently. Right now, wind energy is not sufficient to cover a nation of over 300 million people.
