Should you buy a dog from a shelter (yes) or pet store (no)?

  • Buy from a shelter.

Buying from a pet store you may not know but you are supporting puppy mills in puppy mills they make the female give birth to litter after litter. The puppys ofton never get to see out of their cages andnever get to feel the soft grass under their feet. Buying from a shelter can save a life.

  • Go shelter pets!

You should get your pets from a shelter because you can save two pets at once. You are doing this because you save the one that you buy also the one that goes in the shelter from the streets. I think that people should stop mass breeding in their backyards because is is a huge problem cause they are breed very hashly

  • Animals in shelters deserve better

Ppl need to raise a fund to help the animals in the shelters, they need more room so they don't have to kill animals to let more in, and some animals need medical attention. All shelter animals are given 72hrs to get adopted, if not, they get killed. Thts a really sad ya kno?

  • Buy them from a shelter

If you buy a pet from a pet store you only support animal breeding, which is not only often cruel for the animals, but also causes the number of pets to grow enormously fast. And those animals that are "not good enough" often get killed brutally or are set out somewhere on the road and then get hit by a car, get shoot or freeze/ starve to death, and the more lucky ones then end up in a shelter themselves, which isn't a good life for them either, even though the people there are trying hard to make it so.
Also, for every pet you buy from a breeder/ pet store, one animals remains in a shelter, because you din't buy it from there, which causes the shelters to be overpopulated. Thus you are worsening the situation for each animal in the shelter and are responsible for more animals being put down, because there was just no space for them.
If you instead buy a pet from the shelter, you're reversing the whole process, making a better life not only for the pet you buy, but also for many others.
And a pet from a pet store is not better than one from the shelter.
Actually the opposite may be the case, because many pets (especially cats and dog) are often so overbreed that they get a lot of diseases and health issues.
So just buy a pet from the shelter, and pick one you like because of it's personality, not because it belongs to a fancy race.

  • Yes!! !! !!

Buying animals from a pet store supports animal breeding. Animal breeding is a huge problen in America. If we continue to support this terrible thing then we are not doing our duties of protecting all living things. We as Americans are letting eachother down in this act of SELFISHNESS. THINK ABOUT IT

  • Buy From Shelter.

Its more of a personal decision based on your conscious. Animals from pet stores are usually either bred roughly through cheap breeding houses and respectable breeding houses, on the other hand if you buy a dog from a shelter you have a dog with a story. Chose what you like :)
