  • Love Both of them But...

Metallica is the band that basically redefined the metal genre, and took the genre completely away from hard rock and punk, and made it its own genre. Metallica has influenced countless amount of bands, and they still do. Megadeth, isn't as influential, that's the fact. Metallica also puts on greater performances than Megadeth. Now, that can be an opinion too, but Metallica sells out much more for concerts than Megadeth, fact. Also, many people can agree that Metallica puts on better performances, they have more energy, more moving around, better sound, better singing, and the focus is on all members of the band equably, and it's obvious to the fans that they are having a blast performing, and they also make you feel like that they are happy that you have come to their concert. Megadeth, yes, is great at putting on performances, but there isn't as much energy and having fun. Now, for the SOLOs. Heck yeah, Dave can play guitar much faster than James and Kirk combined, but just because you can play very fast doesn't mean you are good. He has great solos, but they aren't as memorable as Metallica's. Metallica's solos have so much emotion put into them, you can FEEL the soul of it. It is structured to really give off the feeling it is intending, and just hearing one of their solos once, you will always remember that it was Metallica, even if you don't actively listen to Metallica, you can hear one of their solos years later and know that you have heard it before. Megadeth has great solos, but just because its fast, doesn't mean it's that good. You can't really feel the soul put into the solo. It just sounds like someone wants to show off their shredding skills, and you can't really get that feel of it. Now for the songs as a whole. Metallica has great songs, many varieties in time signature, and styles. Megadeth has tried many styles too. Metallica has many more memorable songs than Megadeth, fact. The lyrics in their songs have the soul, the fell, beautifully structured, and epic! Megadeth too, but again, not as memorable. And for albums, they both have good and bad albums, fact and opinion. And this is a little irrelevant but, if it wasn't for Dave, Metallica wouldn't probably wouldn't exist, or be where it is today. Without James kicking Dave out of Metallica, there would be no Megadeth. So thanks to both of the bands.
P.S. Dave Mustaine is epic at guitar, but I would like to see him go against James Hetfield on down-picking on guitar. Of course, Hetfield would win! He's the down-picking god! Both bands have unique guitar players.

So we can thank both of the band here for existing. And p.S. Dave is great on guitar and all, but I would like to see him go against James in a down-picking battle on guitar. We all know who would win. James Hetfield is the down-picking god!
