Yes, solar energy is suited for cities. The large number of buildings and skyscrapers in cities have a great deal of currently unused surface area that could be used to install solar panels. In more crowded areas the levels of electricity use cause brownouts and blackouts quite frequently and having solar energy available would give the population of a city piece of mind.
