Speaking of the federal budget deficit, Steny Hoyer (Democrat from Maryland) said, "We don't have a 'spending problem;' we have a 'paying for' problem." Do you think we have a spending problem (yes) or a paying for problem (no)?

  • We have a spending problem.

In terms of our federal budget deficit, I think we truly have a spending problem. We spend and spend without thinking of the consequences and wonder why we are in debt. Our government spends so much on bailouts causing more debt and never thinks of an actual solution to cure our federal budget deficit instead of just temporarily solving it.

  • Actually it is both.

It is more of a spending problem than it is a paying for problem. Hoyer used some form of Washington double speak to call it a paying for problem. Congress has passed on costs to the American taxpayer for one program after another It is like one of those late night TV get rich infomercials where one uses "other people's money". In early 2014 the excrement will once again hit the proverbial ventilating device. Watch the news.
