  • No it does not.

Standardized testing does not adequately measure what a person has learned. People learn plenty of things that are not going to be on the test. The test is not an accurate measurement for any student. As teachers repeatedly say standardized tests force them to teach for the test. With all of that being said, we do not currently have a better method of assessing students.

  • No, there are many degrees that show different types of learning.

No, standardized testing for graduation does not measure learning, because students can demonstrate learning in a variety of ways. There are also many different types of education, and students should not have to feel like they need to spend all of their time learning to take a graduation test. Each school granting a degree should be allowed to make their standards harder or easier, based on their own reputation.
