DeAngelo Williams' injury is a major setback, considering that he is the Steelers' top offensive weapon. With Williams' out this Saturday against the Bengals, the Steelers' lack a powerful runningback. Even with the help from stellar wide receivers and tight end Heath Miller, the inability to have a strong running game is a major setback.
DeAngelo Williams was one of the best running backs in the NFL season statistically. He didn't play every game, but when he did his numbers were outstanding. I don't think the Steelers can go far in the playoffs without him. The Steelers will be on their 3rd running back and teams should be able to key on the passing game.
Williams was injured in Week 17 against the Browns and was in a walking boot by the time the game ended with what was initially described as an ankle injury, but what the team is calling a foot issue. Whatever the exact nature of the injury, the concern about Williams’ availability to face the Bengals on Saturday remains high as long as he’s unable to get on the field.
I don't know much about this player or the sport in general but I do know quite a bit about injuries. An ankle injury will make it hard for him to play, if it is to bad to walk on. If the team hasn't already made the playoffs and attempt to use him in their plays then it might hurt their chances depending on how hurt he is.
