Even the most environmentally friendly seeming governments seem to think they can tackle the greenhouse gas problem and jack up production of fossil fuels at the same time. The mind boggles. Rudeau is a master of political symbolism, but he's as much in the pocket of the energy sector as his predecessor.
Canadians are trying to protect the resources they have. They bid for water and were outbid by Nestle, an explotative company that is trying to make as much money as possble. Canada is not hording resources anywhere near as much as Nestle and other major corporations have been hoarding resouces.
While preserving our environment and planet is of the utmost importance, it is also important to use the resources that we have to live NOW. Canada might be upsetting some staunch environmentalists, but if they look at the big picture instead of focusing on strictly black and white, I don't think it would be as upsetting.
No, environmentalists should not be upset with Canada because the country has done a lot of good the environment throughout the last several years. The US needs to follow Canada's lead on many fronts. Canada does not allow has many resources to be wasted, even though it is such a large country.
