I won't tune in for the finale of The Killing because I've never seen the show and no nothing about it. Usually, even if I don't watch a TV show, I have some idea what it's about or who's starring in it. But The Killing is a show I know nothing about. Why start now?
Season or Series finales are generally, but not always, the worst places to enter an established fictional universe. Without context for the characters, events and places, a new entry would find it hard to sympathize or appreciate character struggles or eke out some closure from a plot they doubtfully understand.
