Trump's head of Agriculture: Will Sonny Perdue lead Agriculture Department in a good way?

  • yes he should be able to lead this well

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has selected former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue as his nominee to lead the Department of Agriculture. he is a former Democrat who changed parties 20 years ago before becoming the first Republican elected governor of Georgia in more than 100 years. While governor, his state experienced a harsh drought, and in addition to cutting water usage he led a service outside the state capitol to pray for rain.
Perdue also has experience in the grain business, and earned a doctorate in vetinary medicine. So he may be able to lead this in a good way

  • At least he has experience working for the government.

Perdue is one of Trump's better nominations, he's held public service before and he'll know how to get things done. Businesses don''t hire inexperienced people and I'm surprised that as a businessman Trump has nominated so many inexperienced people to important positions. Perdue and a few others have been the exception so there's hope this Presidency won't be a total disaster.

  • I think Purdue will try to do a good job.

I think Trump spent time and thought carefully about his cabinet picks and I think Purdue is qualified for the job and will try to lead the department in a good way. No one takes such a position with the intent to do a bad job and every one of Trump's picks has an impressive record of success, so there is no reason to expect Purdue to lead the agriculture department in a bad way.
