Turkey and Russia plan to form a joint military, intelligence and diplomacy system. This may prevent another military coup in Turkey, but it is not ideal . Russia are quite an intimidating force to be reckoned with. If there is a coup in a country, it needs to be dealt with diplomatically, not with force. There is obviously some problems internally.
Though often mired in controversy, Russia is a very powerful nation on the global stage, with the sort of ethos smaller countries have no choice but to respect. This is why the idea of a joint military, which certainly has notable drawbacks and could be dangerous to the US, will no doubt at the very least prevent another coup.
Really are you that naive? The muslim sect in Turkey vehemently oppose Russia and Erdogan who will turn Turkey into another lapdog of Russia. Personally i think the U.S. should sever ties with turkey and ally ourselves with Jordan, the only major country in the middle east that ISIS hasn't hit.
Turkey and Russia have made an agreement to from a joint military, intelligence, and diplomacy system, but this will not prevent another coup in Turkey. The cause of the unrest has not been fixed, and Turkey's brutal crackdown will only foment the dissidents. Although this may make Turkey temporarily stronger, those that are desperate will not be stopped from another coup attempt.
If Turkey and Russia were to form a close partnership, it would not prevent another military coup. Military coups happen because the people are unhappy with the government and will fight for change. If a government partners with another government which suppresses the will of its people, it will be no cure for military coups.
