Turkey upholds democracy but the United Nations refuse to allow the country to participate in economic summits. Turkey is a country with a history of not being understood and constantly connected to Bulgaria. If Turkey makes it political stance clearer there could be a chance of getting democratic principles upheld.
Although Turkey has taken steps to institutionalize democratic principles, its current government was put in place by a military regime, not by the will of the Turkish people. As such, while amending the constitution to be more democratic is a step in the right direction, Turkey does not yet fully uphold democratic principles.
