US supreme court role on poverty: Should the US supreme court play an active role in fighting poverty?

  • Yes it should

The US Supreme Court should be ruling in favor of the poor and helping to strengthen programs and protections for the poor, but of course, it isn't. The Supreme Court, like all forms of government in this country, are in the hands of the super rich. So they only help the rich.

  • No, the Supreme Court should not be activist.

No, the Supreme Court should now play a role in fighting poverty, because that would be activist. The Supreme Court should not make decisions on what they think the outcome ought to be. Rather, they should make decisions based on what the constitution provides for. Making decisiosn based on the law is more important and proper than a social agenda.
