Vaccinattion debate: Should parents be required by law to vaccinate their children?

  • Yes, parents should be required by law to vaccinate their children.

Yes, I believe that parents should be required by law to vaccinate their children. It is selfish and incredibly dangerous for parents not to vaccinate their children and risk exposing other children and adults to infectious diseases. Contemporary society world-wide has benefited from scientific research proving the successes of vaccinations. It is a public safety concern that should be mandated by law.

  • It is harmful not to

Making a decision not to vaccinate is not the same as making other decisions for your children, as the failure to get the shots could lead to other children getting sick. I may personally believe my kid should carry a knife to school, but it makes perfect sense for other parents not to want that. Same with vaccinations.

  • Yes, parents should be required to vaccinate their children

Yes, parents should be required to vaccinate their children. When parents decide not to vaccinate, they are affecting not only their own children, but other children around them. There is a reason vaccinations exist - to get rid of diseases that have existed for thousands of years. If everyone decided not to vaccinate, those diseases would come back.

  • Yes, parents should be required to vaccinate their children.

Yes, parents should be required to vaccinate their children because there is not enough evidence to prove vaccinations do not work. If children are not vaccinated, they are more susceptible to diseases later in life. An unvaccinated child may spread diseases that we had previously eradicated in the United States.
