Although Alexander Hamilton was never president, he was still a very good founding father of the nation and his works were important. He helped establish the system of Federalism, and he founded the First National Bank, the forerunner of the Federal Reserve today. He helped to build America's industrial economy.
US history is rich and full of highly intelligent, great people who helped shape the country into what it is today. Thus, it is very difficult to say that one person such as Alexander Hamilton could be named the greatest non-president in history. Ben Franklin along with many other important thinkers like Einstein would vie for that title.
