Were British civil liberties compromised due to WW1?

  • British Civil Liberties were compromised due to the first world war

Many laws and policies were created to 'protect' national security, however these policies were made at the expense of the Civil Liberties of the people. For example, the defence of realms act violated the basic civil liberties of the people. Therefore, I think it is fair to say that Civil Liberties were compromised due to world war one.
