Were Europeans the first non indigenous people from the Old world to discover the Americas?

    It is very plausible that Asians were the first to reach the Americas. Not the same as the theory that China is medieval times crossed over, but I am talking about in ancient times, where some tribes indigenous in Asia had knowledge of how to reach the Americas. If you do not include Alaska, then I would still make the claim that certain adventurers throughout Asia made it independently to the Americas many times. Just not as a state organized thing.
