  • Colonists were hurting British

The Colonists were hitting soldiers with clubs and throwing rocks, shells, and snow at the British. The Colonists were also name calling the British and saying things like, "I dare you to shoot me," or "Ha! You know you can't do anything." There was a whole mob of Colonists and only 8 soldiers. The British got scared and acted in self defense. However, it is still not right to shoot and kill people, even in this circumstance.

  • The British felt threatened

There was only 8 British soldiers present at the "massacre" and they were completely surrounded by a rowdy crowd of colonists/ patriots.
