Were the Scots-Irish (of southern Scotland and northern England) brutal when it came to empire building?

Asked by: Adam2
  • They had no mercy for their enemies

They were the ones who built the British Empire first of all, and their atrocities were of unspeakable and sheer horror. Rape, theft, looting, murder, and atrocities characterized Scots-Irish empire-building. We saw as absolute monarch James I conquered and looted Virginia. We saw what they did in India. The Scots-Irish were impressive and very brutal at the same time.
