JonBenet Ramsey's unsolved homicide is more prominent in America's history than Nicole Brown Simpson's, because most people do not believe that Nicole Brown Simpson's murder is unsolved. The makeup of the jury explains the verdict in the Simpson case, but most people have their minds made up about who committed that crime.
We will never know who killed Jon Benet Ramsey, which is sad, but her death did not involve a historical figure. O.J. Simpson's murder of Nicole Brown Simpson is significant not only because of his fame, but because of his acquittal and subsequent arrest and incarceration on other charges. No one will write about Jon Benet in the history books, but law students will be studying the Simpson case for decades.
I would say both the Jon Benet Ramsey case and the Nicole Brown Simpson case are both very prominent in America's recent history. Of the two, I would say the case involving Nicole Brown Simpson was more prominent because the American population, on average, believe the person tried, OJ Simpson was guilty.
Nicole Brown Simpson was married to a very famous man when she was killed. Since O. J. was so famous, this death was extremely famous, and is still talked about to this day. The extreme fame of her NFL husband who was accused of killing her caused this case to be all over the news.
I believe that Nicole Brown Simpson's unsolved homicide case is far more prominent in American history than JonBenet Ramsey's. How many times do we glance at the news magazines while we're in line at the grocery store and we still see headlines about whether or not OJ really did it? Or some new evidence, or did the police mishandle the evidence? Because of the notoriety and fame of the people involved, the case of Nicole Brown Simpson will always be more prominent.
